Work Trade Scholarship Program
Soma Yoga Institute has a limited ability to offer partial work trade scholarships to cover tuition expenses for the yoga teacher training programs. Projects can be completed remotely via Internet or in person. Work trade positions will vary based on the interest and skills of the applicant. The amount of scholarship and specific work trade projects will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in applying for a work trade scholarship, please apply in writing via a formal email request sent to: email@example.com. In this request clearly indicate that you would like to apply for a work trade scholarship and include any details about your financial situation that would validate your request. It is also very helpful to put in writing the exact amount of the scholarship you are requesting. Typical scholarships range between $400 and $500 dollars off the full tuition price. The maximum request that will be considered is $700. In this email please let us know what types of skills you have to offer and attach a resume if you have one. In the past students have completed administrative work, written blogs about their experience, performed cleaning at the yoga studio, worked on other projects such as: advertising, graphic design, website support, video, camerawork, and even building projects. If you have computer skills please include on your resume or in the email what types of programs you are skilled in using (facebook, twitter, microsoft word, excel, graphic design programs, conducting google searches, etc).
Funding For Vermont Residents
- VSAC Non-Degree Grant
Vermont residents may be eligible to revive a VSAC Non-Degree Grant for the tuition portion of our yoga teacher training programs, please note food and housing costs will not qualify to be covered. The Vermont Non-Degree Grant is intended to help Vermonters enhance job skills and improve employability, and to provide non-traditional students with an introduction to postsecondary educational program. A grant is an outright gift of money that usually doesn’t need to be repaid. That’s why it’s sometimes referred to as “gift aid. Most grants are based on a family’s level of financial need. Who is eligible: 1. Vermont resident and lived in the state for 1 year, 2. US citizen and 3. Have financial need as determined by VSAC.
